Lions Club of Whitford

District 201W1 Western Australia

Lions is a community service organisation! People join Lions because they want to user their intellect, creativity, commitment and enthusiasm to get things done.  This is where you can find out about the range of projects that our Club is currently undertaking:

Bingo Has Closed: For twenty eight years Lions Club of Whitford ran Bingo every Friday evening at the Whitford Senior Citizens Hall Banks Avenue Hillarys.  Unfortunately falling attendances and logistical problems has meant that as of January 22nd, 2016 there will be no more Bingo.  The club would like to express its thanks to all those patrons who attended regularly over the years and gave such great support.  We also acknowledge the fabulous work done by Lion John Dedman to keep bingo operating for all those years.  Over the life time of Bingo in excess of $800,000 was raised for use in the community..  All money raised was returned to the community via a number of worthy causes such as Save Sight, Help to Hear and the Lions Cancer Foundation.

BBQ TrailerBBQ Trailer: Available for hire or we will do the catering for you - contact 9448 8213

Mints: Lions Mints come in a variety of flavours - Spearmint, Fizzie, Musk and Peppermint.  Contact Mary-Anne on 93073989 to establish a distribution point in your business.

Community FairFair: The 2016 Community Fair is set down for Sunday 3rd April at McDonald Reserve Padbury.  Entry is free to the public.  If you would like to have a stall at the Fair, you will need to complete the Booking Form.  Entertainment will again be of a very high standard with most featured groups from 2015 agreeing to return in 2016. This year the Whitford Lions Food Hall will be in the Fleur Freame Pavilion. Mark this date in your callendar - do not miss out on a fun family day.

Toy House:  Do you have any good quality toys that are no longer as loved as they originally might have been but could still have a role to play in the life of another young child?  Then we would love to hear from you - we will ensure that they go to a needy child who might not otherwise get a visit from Santa or the Birthday Fairy.  For further information contact John Dedman 9309 1972.

Hands-On Community Service: This activity plays a very large role in our daily/weekly activities list - yard cleanups and general maintenance are undertaken at the request of those community members who are less able to do the tasks themselves.

Xmas CakesChristmas Cakes and Puddings: Lions Chistmas cakes and puddings are the sort of old fashion quality that is rarely seen these days.  Not only do Whitford Lions sell these delicious cakes and puddings, they use all the profits made to benefit the community.  So you can enjoy a Lions Christmas cake or pudding knowing that you are eating the best available and at the same time donating to a worthy cause. Thank you to everyone who supported us at Joondalup Shopping Centre and Whitford City Shopping Centre during the lead up to Christmas 2015 - we will again be at these two venues in 2016.  The good news is that our Cakes are available all year round, so if you would like to buy more of these delicious beauties to have in your lunchbox then contact Mary-Anne on 93073989.
